When they turned their attention to the exterior, Carlsson’s designers- also aimed to improve the aerodynamics of the luxury sedan.
A lower coefficient of drag and greater stability at speed is the result of many different factors. The rear wing, front spoiler and rear diffuser
play a significant role in this connection. Naturally, only the best materials have been used. The aerodynamic components are made of pure carbon fibre
using the prepreg process and thus extremely light and tough. This material is primarily used in the aerospace industry and Formula 1 racing. Although
equally strong, lightweight components made of carbon fibre weigh up to 50 % less than comparable steel parts and are up to 30 % lighter than aluminium
parts. Therefore, carbon is the ideal choice for the Carlsson Aigner Blanchimont. The two-piece Carlsson forged wheels weigh around 40 % less than
conventional aluminium- wheels and thus cut unsprung weight significantly, which not only increases agility but also brings about a noticeable
improvement in ride comfort.
